The Rainbow Bridge is a through truss bridge crossing the Neches River in Southeast Texas just upstream from Sabine Lake. It allows State Highway 87 and State Highway 73 to connect to Port Arthur in Jefferson County on the southwest bank of the river. Bridge City in Orange County is on the northeast bank.

Pictured is the historic Beaty-Orton House in Jasper, Texas.
Texas History- Thomas Beaty purchased this lot in 1843 and sold in 1851. His grandson, John T. Beaty purchased the site in 1888, and erected the two-story Victorian home of native pine.
Beaty, a lawyer and former Jasper County Sheriff, served three terms as state senator of the 14th District. Following his death, his daughter Marguerite and her husband and local druggist J.M. Orton occupied the house until 1971, when the house was sold to the City of Jasper, which later restored the home. The home is recorded Texas Historic Landmark.

Pictured is the Deweyville/Sabine Tram Company - 1916
Deweyville owed its origin to the purchase of 28,000 acres of timberland in south Newton County by the Sabine Tram Company in 1889. For 11 years, its owners cut logs along their 21 miles of rails and floated them downriver to the Bancroft and Gilmer sawmills at Orange. By 1900 the company decided to build its own sawmill at a new town named Dewyville.

It was built in 1914, but it’s the 4th version of the courthouse to grace Palestine - a big step up from the first county court which was held in a log cabin!
Insider tip - if you have a chance, go inside and see the beautiful stained glass skylight just below the dome.

Take a walk on the longest wooden trestle bridge (546 feet long) in America in Rusk, Texas! It’s located downtown just off the square. The bridge was first built in the 1860s, so residents could cross the creek to visit downtown businesses.

The Historic Bowers Mansion in Palestine, Texas.
Texas History- Built in 1878 by merchant Henry Ash, the house received an upgrade after Andrew L. and Nellie O'Connell Bowers purchased the house in 1884.
The Bowers hired architect-builder W. W. Wainright in 1886 to add the cupola, gazebo, circular galleries. In 1897, architect Charles Dunbar was hired for ornate renovations.
The Bowers continued to enlarge and enrich the structure until 1921. Andrew L. Bowers, an International & Great Northern Railroad official, president of Palestine Salt & Coal Co., banker, mayor for 20 years, active in Anderson County oil discoveries, died in 1926.
The Bowers family owned the house for 72 years. In 1970, the house was restored by Carl and H.R. Avera. The Bowers Mansion was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1973.

The Ace of Clubs House (also known as the Draughon–Moore House) is a historic house museum in Texarkana, Texas.
This 1885 Italianate Victorian home is a National Register property and a recorded Texas Historic Landmark. Built in the shape of a club, with three octagonal wings and a rectangular wing, this house is considered one of the most unique in the country.
Legend has it a lucky card drawn in a poker game inspired its shape. The house is distinctively shaped like a club, from a deck of playing cards, with three octagon-shaped wings and a fourth rectangular wing adjoining at a central octagon-shaped stair hall. The house has 22 sides!
