Really really starting to think Elsa Mars was based on Lily Von Shtupp from Blazing Saddles (1974)
Its the German accent, the supposedly bad singing and well the blonde hair, the hair style and the make up. XD
Lili Von Shtupp is a parody of Marlene Dietrich in “Destry Rides Again.” Delusional Elsa Mars is convinced that Marlene stole her act. So the two characters are definitely connected.
