#emotional degrassi rant

I’ve spent like the last 12 years being distressed that of all the goofy-looking kids on Degrassi, Terri is the one having the I-feel-ugly plotline despite being the only one naturally blessed with dope eyebrows and despite being literally the only one who emerged beautifully onto the show and didn’t have to blossom awkwardly into their babeliness over several seasons. And when she tells her dumb dad she feels ugly because she’s fat he says “YOU’RE NOT FAT, YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL” and she’s like “Okay but I am fat tho, so, yeah, I c what u did there dad.” And all she has is Ashley treating her like a sidekick when she should be saying “Dude, stop wearing pajama pants to school in defeat, yr a babe, you deserve better than Rick and your dumb dad and an abusive-boyfriend-induced coma and like no resolution whatsoever for your character on this show. Idk why there are no other fat girls at our school but you’re cute and we love you we’re honestly just jealous of your eyebrows and your cell phone that has internet because it’s like 2003.”
