At risk of sounding like a gatekeeper I think fewer people should be into BDSM
BDSM requires good communication and a concerning percentage of couples have TERRIBLE communication. If you’re in a relationship where you feel like you can’t always trust your partner or where you feel like there are things you have to hide from them, or if you’re having sex with someone you don’t know that well you should not do kinky shit with them.
Unless you’re at some sort of BDSM event where you can talk to people to see if someone has a history of doing good scenes, I think this is a very reasonable precaution that more people should live by. The popularity of Fifty Shades, the increasing popularity of some BDSM elements in mainstream porn, and the virality of kink communities on tiktok seems to have convinced a lot of people that kink is something that can (or worse, should) just be casually incorporated into all sexual encounters and I feel like it is not that hot a take to say it really, really should not be.
