Faculty Show, a time-honored Mount Holyoke tradition that began in 1903, is an event which several faculty and staff participate. From 1903 to 1948, Faculty Shows were put on sporadically, sometimes a year apart, other times two years, or more. Beginning in 1948, the shows have been held once every four years and are usually kept a secret until its performance. As quoted from an Alumnae Quarterly article in 1984, Faculty Show is “a spectacular quadrennial event of talent, non-talent, sense and non-sense.” Over its long history at Mount Holyoke. Faculty Shows have generally been a combination of talent and farcical pursuits, as seen in the photographs above, that brings the college community together.

This year, Faculty Show will be happening on Thursday, March 22nd and Friday, 23rd in Chapin Auditorium. This event is open to all Mount Holyoke students so be sure to catch it because it only comes around once every 4 years!
