Ah, the Black-footed cat (Felis nigripes). Males weighing an average of 4.2 lbs, females at 2.9 lbs; it’s safe to say that these felines are pretty tiny. But, fret not! What they lack for in size, they make up in their fierce, tenacious nature. As the San legend goes, a black-footed cat can kill a giraffe by piercing its jugular. It is in one’s best interest to abstain from interfering in important black-footed cat business. In other words, do not mess with this little predator.
