It’s Check-in and Submission Guidelines Time!

We’ve just sent out our check-in emails, so please be sure to respond so we can begin to plan for posting. Submissions are due on 29 April which is about a month away.

Here are the directions for posting submissions to the 2022 H/D Mpreg Fest.

Posting your Work to the AO3 Collection

Avoid posting your work as a DRAFT. This can lead to confusion when it’s time to release works. If you want to preview post your work, you can do this on your personal AO3 without adding the Mod account as co-author.

Once you’re happy with your work (and any writing has been beta’d), add the Mod account and post your submission to the Mpreg Collection.

This is the link to the 2022 H/D Mpreg Collection. All works will be posted to AO3 by their creator.

What does this mean?
  • ♥ All fics (regardless of length) will be posted to AO3.
  • ♥ All artworks will be posted to AO3, unless the artist specifies otherwise. Talk to a Mod if applicable.
  • ♥ All podfic works will be posted to AO3, unless the recording artist specifies otherwise. Talk to a Mod if applicable.

How do I submit my work to the H/D Mpreg Fest?
  • ♥ On or before Friday, 29 April, go to the 2022 Mpreg Collection and click Post to Collection.
AO3 has further directions on making a post to a collection. (Ignore the challenge references.)
  • ♥ Tick the Add co-authors? box, and add the Mod ID hdmpregmod as a co-author.
This ensures that the mods will be able to proof all entries and keep them uniform, add details to the foot-notes, and adjust any tags if necessary. Without this we are unable to post your work for the fest.
We need to accept the co-author request before it will show, and will do so as quickly as possible.
After the reveals, the Mod ID will be removed. The works will, however, remain part of the Collection.
  • ♥ Content Notes: If your work contains Graphic Depictions of Violence, Major Character Death, Rape/Non-con and/or Underage, you must include these warnings in the header Content Notes and utilise the appropriate archive warning(s) on your AO3 post.
  • ♥ AO3 tagging: You may add relevant Additional Tags (e.g. “romance”, “post-Hogwarts”, “BDSM”, etc). Many followers on AO3 subscribe to certain tags; choosing tags wisely allows readers to find your work more easily.
Please refrain from using freeform tags (e.g. “omg i cannot deal”, etc.) while the fest is in progress. You can add these after reveals.
Unless it’s a “secret”, we highly recommend tagging who is pregnant. This is a polarising topic, and it’s best if people are informed from the start.
We will review the tags as we review the submissions, but will not make major changes without contacting the creator.
  • ♥ Beta and Author’s Notes: All written submissions must be beta-read. Please acknowledge the beta(s) and cheer-leaders in your header under the author’s notes. Use their initials if naming them would be a huge give away. (Don’t forget to update it after reveals.)
  • ♥ Submit: Once you’ve uploaded your work to our AO3 collection, please head on over to our Header Submission Form on AirTable for an HTML-free experience. You will need the submission code that was provided in your prompt allocation email. If you’re not scared of the HTML, you can rock it old-school and head down below the cut and copy and fill the relevant header provided and email it to the mod account at [email protected].
  • ♥ We will post these headers to the harrydracompreg LiveJournal communityandtumblr during H/D Mpreg Fest, with a link to your work on AO3. If your work has any accompanying goodies (think fic-and-art combo, podfic cover-art, etc.), please include these in the AO3 entry.
  • ♥ All submissions will be listed as unrevealed Mystery Works in the collection. The Mods will reveal your work as anonymous when it posts. Nobody but yourself and the mods will be able to see your fest entry before its posting date in the fest. At posting time, the Mods will change the date so that your submission gets maximum exposure. Please do not change it again.
  • ♥ All creators will appear as Anonymous until the fest is over. Please don’t cross-post or otherwise make mention about your submission until the fest is over. It’s only a month… please be patient.
Does this mean I have to have an AO3 account?
  • ♥ We highly recommend all participating creators get an account. If you need an invite code, let us know and we will send you one.
  • ♥ Please talk to the Mods if you do not have or cannot create an AO3 account. We will work something out.
