#fic that isnt going to be written

Ok I’m clearly never actually writing the college AU about Harrow escaping from her fundie parents and going to college (later than she wanted to), but I’m still insanely proud of this line:

Palamedes sighed. “I’m well aware that had you been let go to college as soon as you wanted to, reverend’s daughter, you’d be well on your way to your own PhD by now. But given the circumstances, I am rather further advanced in my studies—"

There was no hint of condescention in his voice. This was the only thing that prevented Harrow from immediately vowing to frame him for research misconduct, condeming him the the slow and agonizing death of the investigation committee.
