Fíli x OC Tullaina

Requested: Nope

Warnings: Fíli who doesn’t know how to deal with how he feels, no other specific warnings for this part (if I do missed some, let me know!)

Word Count: 3.6k

Tullaina fic timeline: betweenSlippery When WetandBroken Promises

A/N: This is the first part of the story of how Tullaina and Fíli finally get together - with the help of Thranduil if you can believe it.
This has been a pain since last year, and now I decided to just throw it out there or I’ll keep editing it until 2025. Keep your eyes open for part 2 soon (the actual maybe-we-should-court moment)

A/N: Big thank you to @medusas-hairband and @midearthwritings for letting me rant to them about this story and for reassuring me this wasn’t garbage!

PS: Feedback is always welcome, it’s my writer’s fuel!

“And King Bard agreed to drop the extra fees if we raise the frequency to monthly deliveries instead of once every few months,” Balin concluded, finally finishing up with reading the new Dale trade agreements.

Tullaina couldn’t understand how everyone was still awake at this point, these council meetings were always so draining and exhausting. She herself had the hardest time with keeping her eyes open and despite her efforts, she had already dozed away a couple of times in the past hour.

A harsh kick to her shin made her jump up, her hand automatically clutching her leg.

“Pay attention,” Kíli mouthed, trying to keep a stern look but the corners of his mouth were twitching.

“Speak for yourself,” Tullaina mouthed back and glared at him, remembering how he was the one who had dragged her to this meeting in the first place. So far she didn’t hear anything of her interest. On the contrary… He probably did it so he wouldn’t have to suffer alone. Coward. She couldn’t wait to get back at him.

This was amazing! I’m always a sucker for how you write the relationship between Tullaina and Kili and loved seeing it again during the meeting scene.

And I have to admit I got very excited when Fili’s temper rose at her after she took off on her pony (I’d always be testing things if it resulted in that reaction )

He knew how her lips felt against his. The ghost of their kiss bade him goodnight every time he closed his eyes after a long day.

Swoon.

But at the end of it all these two lovebirds are so close but still so far away. It’s infuriating that they both keep missing the mark, though I know they’ll figure it out soon enough!

Looking forward to part two!!
