my piece for @keystonezine! a very thinly veiled gundam au depicting mainly the spaces between, as is my wont. this entire project was really a labor of love and i’m so, so proud of how it came out! thanks to everyone who participated and purchased it, i hope you love it as much as i do.

Ryousuke leaves Earth the same way he arrived: in a shower of light and sparks, plumes of smoke blooming in the sky, every inch of his body fighting the terrible weight of gravity as if he can win through will alone. This time, Youichi’s strapped into the narrow auxiliary seat, Earthborn and brave, starting to turn distinctly green. Ryousuke smiles, hands steady on the controls, guiding his mechanoid up and out of the atmosphere with a surety born of repetition, exit flight pattern ingrained even after almost a year planetside, even though he’s never had to execute it until now. “Still want to learn to fly?” he says.
Youichi’s laugh is half cough, harness snug across his sternum and holding him more still than anything else has ever managed. “Oh,” he says, eyes bright on Ryousuke’s face, “Yeah. Hell yeah.”
It was such a pleasure to work with my friends and with new artists! The organization was excellent, the print is amazing and ooooh the art is so so good!
