FUCK NAESALA
*CACKLY GIGGLE* I love that “FUCK NAESALA” is such a nondescript, unspecific reaction. Completely non-indicative of what part you’re at. Could be a lot of moments.
A lot.
also love Reyson’s “*close eyes conceal don’t feel*” reaction.
and i’m shoving a pillow over my face screaming at so much here, again <33
YOU SEE WHY I . HAVE A THING. FOR NAESALA AND REYSON’S RELATIONSHIP. x’’’’)))))) but yeah, this is so “*throw hands up in the air* WHAT?? SERIOUSLY??”, but you have to keep in mind they really were EXTREMELY close friends before, for centuries. there’s a huge lot of history between the three bird tribes and the herons are Special to everyone, that’s why it hurt Reyson so much and that’s why Naesala drops Daein and why Reyson does take him back >w<
Re: Kilvas, IIRC all we really hear about it in PoR (and you’ve probably heard all of it by now) is that they’re so small and weak they have to resort to piracy and mercenary…-ness…, and although they might not be currently on the verge of dying out and maybe they don’t all think solely about survival every single day, at the very least Naesala is so insistent on strengthening the kingdom because he thinks Kilvas will eventually die out otherwise (either of starvation, or possibly by being wiped out… I’m not sure if that latter was canonically stated as a possibility). (… i’m pretty sure. … wait how much of this is fanon—))
So that’s the biggest thing that sets the ravens apart from the other tribes: unlike the dragons or the beasts, they can’t even afford to have principles or honor or to avoid interacting with Beorcs, because they have to fight just to survive.
I mean, 99,99% of them are snakey bastards even when keeping that in mind, but yeah, I think that’s what he’s referring to in that one “~you could never understand~” line. I don’t know what else it could remind you of, though — some lines sorta similar to that come up in Soren’s supports, but IIRC you haven’t seen any of those lines yet… Perhaps Lethe at some point, possibly with Jill? :o
and afdlkflkjslkjf I LOVE IKE SO MUCH… what a good, thoughtful, considerate protagonist??? i can’t believe he’s this good at diplomacy when it doesn’t involve nobles
(… you can really see he grew up in a laguz country huh)
Something that seems off at first is that Hinoka is old enough to remember her old mother as well as Mikoto’s arrival, but doesn’t remember that she and Corrin are not blood related and finds out about it in the forbidden S support, unlike Ryoma who already knows.
But then thinking about it, and given how the Hoshidans (or at least the Hoshidan royals) put so much value to blood ties that they expect someone who grew up in Nohr to just join them purely because they’re blood related and thus “their true family”, so it makes me think that Hinoka forgot about her true relationship to Corrin as a way to both quell her doubts in the path of life she chose but also to cope with her trauma.
And neither Ryoma nor Mikoto were eager to telling her the truth.
As far as the people knew, Corrin was 100% an Hoshidan Royal, after all.
But her yelling at Mikoto that she’s not their true mother is something she deeply regrets especially after her death and probably often thinks about in shame, so there was no way she was going to forget that.
