“I was playin’ for Evretts, Dickie was pitchin’ for Bennetts. I got two hits off of him. First one was just Linda Ronstadt. Blue Bayou. Second one I got a hold of, but it went foul…the third one Dickie sent right into my head. I hit the dirt, and when I looked up, the benches had all cleared, and Dickie was pulling his foot back, putting his cleats in my face. I just picked up the bat, swung it, and got my third hit.”
