“Lately I’ve been feeling the feverish curse that grips me go down, finally feeling in control of my mental faculties once again. Yet there is an underlying layer of dread, as if this is the calm before the storm.

Still, I was eager to shed such feelings and focus on my research again, taking my mind off things. A lot of time had passed during my time recovering, having gotten almost to mid-winter. This was the perfect opportunity to look into the festivals that mark this time of year.

My plans were interrupted almost immediately. I had agreed to help out with the festival as the ones in charge seemed to be running short-handed. That said, I had not expected to be turned into a cervitaur, a half-deer!

I ended up staying for the duration of the festival, helping around and - as much as it embarrasses me to admit - giving sleigh rides to visitors. While I can say the festival was a success and the rides proved to be popular, it meant I got nowhere with my research.”
