Superstore follows a group of employees working at Cloud 9, a fictional big-box chain store in St. Louis, Missouri.

I’ve just recently finished binge-watching Superstore, something I had been meaning to watch for years and finally got around to doing. Whilst it was a little slow to get into at first, the show vastly improves after the first season and there is a lot to enjoy about it.

Most of the narrative occurs inside the store, but this is a perfect way to focus on character dynamics and conflict between all of the different characters. Each character is very distinctive, and it is a true joy learning all of their quirks and flaws. Essentially, every character is a weirdo in some way or other, and this is what makes Superstore so engaging.

Superstore is genuinely amusing, and because there are so many characters there are countless dynamics and differences to explore in order to generate further comedy. Certainly there are plenty of characters I would hate to interact with in person, but still absolutely love to watch lose their minds on this show. They all exasperate each other in varying ways, and the ways in which this comes out in the narrative is so much fun.

At the same time, Superstore does examine some legitimate issues through the characters that are affected by these issues, and these moments and episodes are emotional and heartwarming to watch.

So if you enjoy comedies, and love interesting and wacky characters, then I’d give Superstore a try if you haven’t yet.
