I have this in my collection as ‘Polish Gauntlet Scene’ - can anyone tell me more about this?
It looks like the man in the final picture is very concerned for the welfare of the man who’s been punished. Any ideas?

Trenck - Zwei Herzen gegen die Krone(2003)
A soldier volunteers to run the gauntlet to protect his commanding officer from an AWOL charge. We see him shirtless, stood at the end of the gauntlet. He’s got a nicely hairy chest and has what would probably be described these days as a “dadbod”.He bends over and is led, with a bayonet at his chest, through the gauntlet.
There are nice shots along his back which gets realistically bloody as the punishment carries on. He then collapses at the end. In the next scene, we see his wounds being tended - the officer he covered for seems appreciative of his sacrifice.

McKenna of the Mounted (1933) part 2 of 2
In this 30s film, Sergeant Tom McKenna (Buck Jones) is discharged from the Northwest Mounties in disgrace.
After the official ceremony is over and he’s getting changed out of his uniform, a former colleague comes in to tell him that the boys are waiting for him and he’ll keep his shirt off “unless he’s yellow”.
When our hero gets outside, his former colleagues are waiting in two rows with thick leather straps at the ready. As our hero walks between them, he’s beaten hard across his back and chest.
Buck Jones is a fine, stocky specimen and for me what makes this super hot is this is an unofficial punishment from colleagues who feel his disgrace reflects badly on them.
Of course, it’s the classic ruse to get him thrown out so he can pursue the real culprits. It’s an old trope, but who’s complaining if it results in a whipping?
