Vy fell quiet and closed the book as it revolted them and made them sick. Their heart threatened to come out of their mouth.
Vy: You’re nothing, like them, little scale. -Vy looked at Brooke with sad eyes and walked to her, gently brushing her hair- I know you can help us. Show River how you did what you did.
River watched Vy, realizing what Vy had read. Gold, like sunlight, light, fair, warm. A miracle. Lucas, the dragons they attacked were Lucas’ family, and they had wanted to try and adopt Lucas, probably to test some crazy plan, but gave up on it… because Brooke found Flynn and Fan instead. And those twins told them about Vy, that’s why they gave up on Lucas and turned to his family instead. He took a deep breath.
River: Alright, Brooke. Show me, if you can.
Brooke went pale as Vy read, it was clear she too realized who they were talking about, the one they had listened to at lunch, whom she had always loved the music off, her parents were to blame for their loss of their entire family. Her eyes met Vy’s and for a second or two, all she wanted to was to hide against their chest and cry. But she didn’t, instead, she nodded, starting to show River how it was done.
