what callmecarson and jschlatt have been saying about stan culture is so poignant and important; it really does show that some stans, twitter stans especially (i’ve found them to be the most insane—kpop stans, anyone?), go way too far in their “dedication” to their faves.

sometimes i see shit in the tags i visit for this blog (“”commentary”” youtubers) that really weird me out and i have a lot of stuff muted for that purpose. you need to distinguish between the creator and the content—the creators want you to enjoy the CONTENT and what they CREATE rather than themselves and their private lives behind the screen. it’s why i find people pressuring george to face reveal or alex to tell us about his sexuality so weird—how is it our business? it’s THEIR life, they should be allowed to live it without stans and obsessive fans.

it’s all well and good to find a creator cute or really like them on the surface or whatever, but when you start digging into their personal lives, into their families, into their addresses and property (cooper’s waterbottle), that’s too far.

respect creators and respect what they provide you with.
