Important worldbuilding question: What do they call sweaters in the Elflands?

(We know they have knitting, because Maia mentions wishing the imperial regalia allowed for wooly hats.  I’m going to assume that sweaters/jumpers/jerseys/etc exist, but are currently considered too outdoorsy and informal for town or court wear.)

Subject to future updates as I change my mind about things or flesh out the setting.

Timeline: The main canon events of Gravity Falls take place a few years before the beginning of The Goblin Emperor.  Maia is about Wendy’s age, he’s 14 when Stan “liberates” him from Edonomee, and 15 during the summer of the younger twins’ first visit.  (I’m thinking when he’s still recovering from Setheris pushing him onto that fire screen.)

Weirdmaggedon probably doesn’t go down *quite* so dramatically, but something goes down that’s a dramatic enough threat that the Stans have to pull themselves together and cooperate

What is Ford’s grievance?  There doesn’t seem to be maza equivalent of Backupsmore - everyone seems to attend the Athmaz’are, so what did losing his big Chance To Impress cost Ford that he could still be mad about as a grown-ass wizard without coming across as unsympathetically petty?

Maybe Filbrick and Ford had different visions for Ford’s future?  Since canon Filbrick wanted Ford’s genius to make the family a bunch of money, and mazei don’t/can’t get rich, maybe Filbrick wanted Ford to go to university, get a STEM degree, and make big money as an inventor/engineer (never mind that scholars seldom get rich either, according to Maia).  Becoming a wizard sounds rad as hell to *me*, and Ford would probably be happy with it, but Filbrick might see it as abandoning the family, and take his disappointment out on Ford with Stan out of the picture?

Was homeless teen Stan a courier for a while before striking off on his own?

By the opening of TGE, Dipper is a michenmaza at the Athmaz’are, Mabel is an apprentice costumier for an opera house (who still finds the time to make Maia a coronation sweater).

Possible pre-canon meeting for Maia and Csevet - Maia’s headed to Gravitano with Stan, and teenage courier Csevet has a message for the Northwests, and they wind up on the same riverboat or something? (Probably not an airship, since I don’t see Stan springing for it).  Csevet probably thought that the

I was wondering where Maia would get his Court Life 101 info with Setheris out of the picture and I’m starting to think it might be Pacifica, of all people.

(For the Northwests, “out-of-favor half-goblin youngest son” was considerably outweighed by “bona fide royalty roughly in our daughter’s age range,” so once they learned who that skinny gray kid down at the Mystery Shack was, Maia got invited to a lot of Northwest parties.  To their chagrin, Maia and Pacifica never became particular attached to one another, although they got along decently after Pacifica’s character development, but it did help keep Maia’s formal manners from getting rusty.)

Trying to figure out where Goblin Falls!Maia’s going to be, emotionally, because “ten years trapped with your abuser” and “six years trapped with your abuser, followed by four years of relative freedom with people who like you, interspersed with a generous sprinkling of supernatural peril” are probably going to have different effects on one’s personality, but different how?
