➥ What is your character’s full name? Basteaux Renaulier
➥ Do they have any brothers or sisters? He had a twin sister, Elloix. He still has a younger brother, Briardien.
➥ What kind of eyes do they have? Piercingly bright blue-green, narrow and almond shaped. When he gives someone the full weight of his stare, it can feel like he’s looking straight through to their soul.
➥ What kind of hair do they have? Darker gingery brown, but a little sun-bleached.
➥ What is their complexion like? More pale, but with dusky sort of undertones. He has a very cool-toned complexion overall.
➥ What body type are they? Tall and lanky, wiry and much stronger than he looks: the longbow he pulls is not light, after all. He’s about average build, not underfed but not overweight either. There are some interesting scars in various places on his body - if you catch him with his shirt off, you would see on the left side of his torso an old, pale, creeping scar of crackling tendrils like lightning. It spreads partly onto his lower back and partly over his abdomen, but it’s low enough that he can wear open-collared shirts with none or very little of it showing.
➥ What is listening to their voice like? He’s often a bit stiff and formal, interspersed with moments of almost ‘normal’ speech. He doesn’t quite know how to talk to people properly and so it’s not unusual for him to switch back and forth without a real pattern.
➥ What do they hate most about themselves? Quite a lot. He carries a large amount of guilt and feels like he owes penance for things he’s done in the past.
➥ Do they have a favorite quote? No
➥ What sort of music do they enjoy? He plays violin… but he doesn’t do it very often. It’s something special that requires a certain sort of setting to prompt it. Most music he listens to is that of the birds.
➥ Have/would they ever cheat(ed) on a partner? He has never had a partner, but he is intensely loyal.
➥ Have they been cheated on by a partner? Again, he has never had a partner.
➥ Have they ever lost someone close to them? Yes.
➥ What is their favorite sound? Water. There’s a little natural spring the trickles through a corner of his home cave, and that sound is one of the most soothing and comforting ones to him. He also loves the rain. Thunderstorms especially.
➥ Are they judgmental of others? Yes and no? He does make assumptions based on appearance, but he ultimately tries to stay out of the way of others and interact as little as possible.
➥ Have they ever been drunk? Yes.
➥ What are they like when they stay up all night? This is common. His schedule is typically more nocturnal than diurnal, but does switch back and forth as necessary.
➥ Have they ever been arrested? No.
➥ What evokes strong memories for them? Thunderstorms. The feeling of gathered aether. Late summer afternoons in the forest, when the air is heavy with the smells of leaves and warm berries and there’s barely a breeze to be found.
➥ What do they do on rainy days? Whatever he was planning to do that day. Sometimes, if he’s feeling particularly self-indulgent, he will sit at the mouth of his cave or beneath a large tree and simply listen to the sound of the rain pattering through the leaves. He doesn’t care if he gets wet.
➥ What religion are they? He’s more spiritual than religious, but even then he doesn’t actively do much.
➥ What word do they overuse the most? Probably “no”?
➥ What do they wear to bed? A pair of loose pants. A shirt if it’s cold.
➥ Do they have any tattoos or piercings? His ears are pierced, but at most he’ll wear simple hoops. Nothing really remarkable.
➥ What type of clothing are they most comfortable in? Foresty colors - greens and browns, mostly. Looser fitting is typically better. Again, nothing really remarkable.
➥ What is their most disliked food? Anything made from eft.
➥ Do they have any enemies? He did once, but that man died years ago. Something for which Basteaux is immensely grateful.
➥ What does their writing look like? Mostly neat, but far from perfect. Unembellished and concise without flourish.
➥ What disgusts them? Bigotry. Rascism. People who take advantage of others.
