2022 Armitage Weekly Round-up #13

2022 Armitage Weekly Round-up #13

Today’s delay comes courtesy of a fan meet. it has been a long time coming, and now that I finally managed to leave the little island, I made sure to visit Kate on my way South to see Little Miss Guylty… It’s been a really fun visit, despite a rather unusual weather situation…

We had snow yesterday – on the first of April… Luckily I was travelling by train, so the snow did not really matter much…

2022 Armitage Weekly Round-up #12

Saturday!!! I’ve been up early because I needed to get the draw for the Porter shrine out of the way in time for the post office. So first things first – the winner has been picked, and the RAPS is on the way to… *drumroll*

Congrats, Zee. I hope the letter won’t take forever to get to you…

And now on to the round-up.

Riepu10 has made a nice static-over-gif gif of Sir Guy Astrovian has got a…

2022 Armitage Weekly Round-up #11

It’s been a good long time, but yesterday I was back volunteering at MoLI for the first time. It was almost strange to be in there without a mask hiding half my face, and speaking to the visitors also felt way more personal. I got such a buzz out of chatting to a young American couple who were so delighted that I could give them some information about the Irish poet they were researching… In my…

Impromptu Charity Craft Sale for Ukraine

Impromptu Charity Craft Sale for Ukraine

Maybe you have already guessed what I was gearing up to, with two shrines in quick succession… Well, the post title says it all: With the horrible war and the successive refugee crisis going on in Ukraine, I wondered how I could help (beyond my own donation a couple of weeks ago). The obvious answer is to sell some of my crafty stuff and donate the proceeds to refugee relief. I had already jumped…

2022 Armitage Weekly Round-up #10

The weekend has begun and I am not quite where I want to be. Work-wise. I have a bit of a list of projects that I have to tick off, but instead I spent the morning chatting with our friend from Ukraine. Well, he‘s not *from* Ukraine but he used to work there. I mentioned him a couple of weekends ago when he stopped by on his way to Cuba. He has now returned from his holiday and is stopping over…

RA Pocket Shrine 265/? - My Favourite Ride; Or: Fandom Fun During Twitter Break

RA Pocket Shrine 265/? – My Favourite Ride; Or: Fandom Fun During Twitter Break

It’s been a while since I last made a RAPS – apparently three months, to be exact. And what made me go back to the shrining desk? A crafty exchange! What happened was this: I recently took part in a craft challenge within the junk journaling community on YT. The concept was so fun, so easy – and so inspiring – that I wished I could do it on a regular basis. Fast forward to the beginning of Lent.…

2022 Armitage Weekly Round-up #9

2022 Armitage Weekly Round-up #9

My great annual Social Media hiatus has started. That is a bit of a misnomer, as I am only staying away from Twitter. I haven’t been active on FB for years, so no need to rein myself in there, and IG is also not a major time-thief for me. So, since Ash Wednesday I have stayed away from Twitter, and I apologise should anyone have sent me DMs or tweeted at me there – I am not checking messages,…

2022 Armitage Weekly Round-up #8

The world as it is today cannot go unmentioned even here in this ‘happy place’. With Russia invading Ukraine, war has become tangible in Europe. I am old enough to feel catapulted back in the times of the Cold War. Even though I was a child back then, I was keenly aware of an ever-present threat – due to living in the centre of Europe, right at the line that marked the border between East and…

Has Netflix Renewed Their Contract with BBC? #RichardArmitage

North and South NetflixAccording to a commenter, JustLuthen, it’s a done deal:

“I just spoke with Netflix. It has renewed its contract with the BBC and RA’s not going anywhere.”

Thanks, Luthen. It’s a great message on a Monday morning, and my optimist is clinging onto it. Not because I need to watch the Netflix version of North and South, or MI-5 (Spooks) or Robin Hood, but because it’s such an easy way to turn…

The minis were getting ready to celebrate the new year…

But something happened!

A blue police box, heavily damaged, appeared suddenly in their mini living room!

Luckily mini Doctor was alright and the minis welcomed him.

I guess there is another guest at the mini new year’s party!

Mini Marian and mini Guy chose to play pool, while mini Robin and a mini stranger (could she be a mini Kate? ) are playing cards (not sure of the game, but mini Robin is betting the gold he stole from the sheriff)

Robin and Guy went to the gym. Mini Hulk is showing them how to lift a big rock, but they can’t do it, even if they both try together.

The minis went to the beach, then to the lake, had lunch at a restaurant near the sea and now they are ready to explore underwater, in search for mini Atlantis

30C here, so the minis went to relax at the pool.

(Yes, the blue pool is a new, clean, litter box I bought for mini Guy and friends. The big pool is the one I put in the garden at summer just for Kira, so it’s a little ruined and not completely clean)

Mini Guy and mini Marian are proud parents.

Grandpa mini Vaisey and uncle mini Robin try to be helpful, but I’m not sure if they can be really trusted…
