For the past half year I have been working hard, taking care of captive wildlife, teaching the public about our fragile Bay Area wilderness, and taking photographs all along the way. I haven’t had much time to post on here, but with recent time on my hands, I have given my website (www.kevinshoban.com) a heavy remodeling, and I am now able to continue updating this fun, blog! I have taken many pictures in the past seven months and I cannot wait to share all the images and stories behind them! For now I give you a shot I took yesterday evening at Martin’s Beach, in Half MoonBay, CA. It was the most beautiful sunset I had ever seen!

When I arrived at Martin’s Beach my good friend Ian was already there, finding a good place to shoot at sunset. The negative tide was extremely allowing me to explore around “tooth” rock, being careful not to step on anything fragile. I took a few photos of the rock at different angles, then joined back with my friend Ian and his buddy Bruce for the sunset. The clouds in the sky blocked a lot of the light from the setting sun, but I had a feeling when the sun set over the horizon, the after burn would illuminate the sky. I just didn’t realize how amazing it would truly be. The colors were so rich and vibrant, bouncing off layers of clouds, engulfing the beach and everything around it. Amazing conditions for a breathtaking, once in a lifetime experience.
