Danneel stopped dead in her tracks at the sight that met her. Her kitchen along with her oldest daughter and wife were all covered in flour, sugar and various ingredients, while her husband sat at the table, stuffing his face with whatever baked goods were put in front of him. Danneel’s brows shot to her forehead as she tried her very best to sound angry and not burst into laughter.
“JJ and Y/N Ackles. What are you doing to my kitchen?” Danneel scolded, but neither of the two were fooled. They just looked up at her smiling brightly and Danneel instantly cracked, smiling back at them.
“Mama is proving to Auntie Taylor she can sell more pies than her,” JJ stated proudly, before Y/N took over with a giggle, clearly picking up on the confused look on Danneel’s face.
“It’s the annual bake sale tomorrow and Taylor was being a smartass,” Y/N explained, making Danneel throw her head back in laughter.

It was your first holiday away together, since you held your commitment ceremony and had gone on your honeymoon. It had been hard for you and Danneel both to leave your two little girls at the same time, but Jensen had finally managed to convince you. Gracie was 2 and JJ was 18 months. Even if it had been hard to leave them, knowing they were with their aunt Gen and uncle Jared helped you a lot. Finally Jensen had managed to convince the two of you to agree that a skiing vacation was a great idea.
All three of you loved being active and snow wasn’t something you came by in Texas all that often and if it did occur, it was gone fast. Skiing would be a fun outdoor activity for the three of you to do together during the day and during the night you’d enjoy each other indoors, using your luxurious cabin’s spa, sauna and huge soft king size bed to it’s full advantage.

Jensen felt numb and as if he had been moving around in a daze ever since the doctor had pushed him out of the operating room 5 days ago. He remembered falling to his knees watching the door close behind him. He knew Gino had been at his side in an instant, but he hadn’t registered a word his brother in law was saying. He didn’t hear the commotion or the sounds around him. He didn’t hear Deb’s crying or Ed trying to soothe her. All he saw was the images of his happy, smiling wife flashing before his eyes.
