Hi Everyone!

I’ve been researching possible January events for us (I know, it’s been a while) and I was wondering if people would want to volunteer at the Women’s March on Washington.  If not, I can find another event for us.  I just thought something local and a one time opportunity could be cool.  Let me know what you think!  I’ll be booking something for us in the next few days so your input is needed!

I’ve heard from a few people who are for this but most of them won’t be in town. Anybody else have input/will be there to join us?

Last call before I make a decision!

Hello everyone!

Our next event will be on Saturday, October 29th, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Whitemarsh Park in Bowie. We’ll be helping out the City of Bowie’s Green Team in removing the invasive, non-native English-ivy plant from the park.

Since it is an outdoor activity, make sure to dress appropriately. All necessary tools will be provided there for you as well.

If you’d like to be a volunteer, all you have to do is send us an email at [email protected] to let us know, and we’ll put you on the list!

Space is limited, so make sure to email soon if you’d like to join!

Hey everyone,

We just want to apologize for the delay in getting a September event set up. We were working with an organization to set up a volunteer date for next weekend, but the event ended up getting canceled.

We’re currently working on getting another one scheduled, but we’re sorry for all the delays!

As some of you know, last night’s rain created flooding that devastated Old Ellicott City in Howard County, MD.  We are looking into organizing an event to work together to clean up.  In the meantime, here is a link to volunteer individually: http://tinyurl.com/ecflood  and here is a link to donate directly to the businesses and homes that were damaged: http://www.helpellicottcity.com

Luckily, very few people were hurt in the flooding but it will take a long time for the small businesses to be up and running again. Also, many people live above the stores and currently cannot access their homes because the buildings are unsafe.

(None of the pictures in this post are mine, they came from Governor Larry Hogan’s facebook page.)

On Saturday, five of our spectacular volunteers worked at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens to safely move four turtles from one pond to another and thin out the water lilies from three of the ponds.  WELL DONE, TEAM!

One of the other groups volunteering with us were two women who work for the EU.  They did not want to talk about Brexit but were happy to learn about HAHD!
