laying in bed throwing random colors at these sketches, thinking how much i like pink and green together, when i look around and realize these are literally the colors of my bedroom lol

i think i’m having that “everything you draw looks like something you drew” problem with designing OCs, and i need to lean into it. i’ve resorted to redrawing cinderella (1950) screencaps to try and get the cinderella feel since that’s the basis of the story i’m working on. (it’s cinderella, but make it a heist.)

idk what era i wanna pull influence from, but right now i’m going mostly rococo i guess???

once i work out character designs for my story idea i’m gonna draw ‘em!!!!! and then you’ll all wanna know about my OCs!!!!!!!!! yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

sunniensplendor comments: YES GOOD I will always want to hear about people's OCs! How many do you have? what color hair? Do they play well with others? tattoos? what's their sass level?? AAA!!!

@sunneinsplendor WELL THANK YOU FOR ASKING!!! the thing i’m working on right now is a cinderella retelling as a magical heist, so i’ve got all the basic cinderella characters but with extra identity shenanigans! hair color is somewhat undecided, but i’m leaning towards reddish for the prince (name tbd) and maybe black when he’s in disguise. for cinderella (name also tbd), prolly like an ashy brown that then turns something ridiculously cute like pink when she gets done up for the ball. neither of them play well with others due to being pretty much separated from normal people early in life, and mostly their character growth would be focused around that. sass level? hmm pretty sassy when not in the stuffy atmosphere of court. i feel like she’s actually more easily aggravated than him and therefore also more likely to out-sass him if given the chance. like she gets enough crap from her step family and just has no patience to deal with this random guy also, but really she’ll help him when he needs it because she’s not heartless…it totally doesn’t mean she likes him or anything.

and tattoos? probably not for these two since it doesn’t really fit their situation, but also i just realized that i’m likely too lazy to ever give my OCs tattoos since then i’d have to worry about drawing all those little annoying details. but i’ll never say never!

update: i think i figured out the perfect ridiculously pretentious name with a try-hard cool-boy nickname for my prince character. working on my main gal’s name still tho.

oh and also there’s still a whole plot to fix.
