Pure henna & pure indigo two-step plus cheating with a bit of punky color to cover my chemically treated (read: bleached to death) hair and it’s so black it’s almost impossible to get a photo of it. Pure indigo is weird stuff. Starts off as green looking/green smelling plant powder. I use warm distilled rose water and sea salt to mix a paste and, after dye release, it becomes blue-black with a vibrant metallic violet sheen.
