Yesterday the movie “The Love Bug” turned 53 years young as ever, which is the racing number of our beloved Herbie, the big star of the movie. I absolutely love all Herbie movies, so I decided to draw this. Here’s for more 53 years of much love to give!

Hey Disney…

When you stop being hypocritical about taking money from the people who don’t want schools to say that word that you’re providing inspirational content for… I’ve got your next movie idea.

I had an amazing dream last night. I dreamt that Lightning McQueen from the Cars movies was a character in a live action movie ala Roger Rabbit style. But he was a real race car in this world where people and sentient cars lived together. (I guess the Cars franchise was an in universe cartoon they made for kids to profit off Lightning’s popularity ala the Lightyear movie)

So the basic story is a race car movie only the race cars are alive obviously. Like my mind cast Keenan Michael Key as the egotistical rival driver and his car had to suffer his abuse while Lightning’s driver was being overprotective of Lightning who wanted to push himself to go faster. And then the twist of the movie is that it’s revealed that this is the same universe as the Love Bug and Herbie is animated too. And Lightning is fanboying because Herbie is his hero and asks him for advice. And Herbie says winning doesn’t matter more than your relationship with your driver. (And mentions how in his day Cars hadn’t learned how to speak to humans yet) And it’s revealed that Herbie and Jim’s (Dean Jones character in Love Bug) family haven’t spoken in years until Herbie does a nice tribute to Jim before the race ( because he’s racing too) and…I want to see this movie…how about you?
