— Ruggie makes a wish in a field of dandelions, wishing on every one that you were his.

Lying down in a field of dandelions, Ruggie stared longingly into the night sky, the gentle breeze caressing his face as he closed his eyes and savored the serene moment he had to himself. His grandmother once told him about this place — a field full of dandelions as far as the eyes can see. She once told him that it’s a special place where wishes come true, a place where he should bring his future love to.

The moon and the flowers were his only witnesses. He picked up a dandelion, his lips forming a thin line before he let out a forced laugh. “… I must look stupid believing all that tittle-tattle about making wishes here.”

Ruggie sat up, his ears twitching as he contemplated his decisions — his grandmother once said that dandelions bring wishes to those who make them. Perhaps he was a little bit antsy and insecure, or maybe even a little bit worried, to be making a wish like this. But what outweighs them all was the longing he felt.

The feeling that made him so desperately want to be beside someone else. The one that makes his heart feel like it’s being squeezed dry when he looks at you. The one that made him want to burst into tears at the thought of you not liking him back.

He’d wish on dandelions. He’d wish on them all the time if it meant having you. He’d wish that you were his, wish that you were beside him right now, wish that your forever was with him, wish that your forever happiness would be with him of all people, and wish that the reason for your smiles would be him.

He blew on the dandelion in his hand. Hoping that his wishes would be carried to you by the wind, conveying the feelings he never told you.
