Okay so AEW did tell Shida that she wouldnt be in the tourney in advance, good to know that at least.

So it absolutely seems shes just upset at the way they’ve handled it and views it as them invalidating japanese wrestling.

So Hikaru Shida seems very upset on twitter and I don’t blame her.

I do believe this is an angle to an extent but they’ve done it in the worst possible ways for Shida.

She seems very upset that they’ve invalidated her work shes done in the past few days including a hour plus long match.

you could have easily just have said Shida is booked in japan and can’t make it back, or shes refocusing, or shes just taking time out in japan after the street fight.

it’s good that aew has a solid roster like this that they can annouce a replacement like this and everyone be like yeah that makes sense.

miro, kris statlander, all perfectly great replacements.

also the shida injury is a work, shes just booked in japan fully right now.

i think, HOPE, that this is gonna lead to jade vs kris at double or nothing.

would love to see a good hoss off.

So it’s been about a year now since Hikaru Shida lost her women’s championship, what have they done with her since?

-Stuck on Dark for three months.

-Lost what was to be her 50th win

-Beat Deeb in the rematch then got tapped out by Nyla and eliminated from the TBS tournament.

-Beat by Deeb again and written off TV.

-Returned to resume her fued only to tap out again.

-Written out of the Owen Hart tournament with a bullshit excuse that ignored all the work she’d been putting in back in Japan.

This is not how you should treat your longest reigning champion, but Tony Kahn doesn’t care. All he cares about are the heels in the women’s division.
