TIL my boyfriend doesn’t know (aesthetic, general societal) gender stereotypes

yes, this is the same boyfriend who wishes he was queer because we’re “all really cool”, yes this is the same boyfriend who does not know he is tall, yes the same one who doesn’t know the alphabet.

i just know this is going to break containment to people who are not already aware of the adventures of himbo boyfriend so i’m gonna make a couple wee disclaimers here so as not to take this conversation the wrong way. you’re going to anyway. it’s tumblr. whatever.

  • said boyfriend has considered his own gender and sexuality and confirmed for himself that he is definitely a man
  • said boyfriend is fixated on looking masculine. i haven’t 100% gotten to the root of why it’s such an issue yet, but it is. i mean. it’s the anxiety because he has just so much of that but why this specifically will remain a mystery
  • he does not think being/appearing feminine is bad in any way. he frequently laments “not being able to wear” certain things he thinks look too feminine because he is “not masculine enough” to pull that off, and also “not brave enough”
  • i think colours / symbols / things in general being gendered in society is stupid. i literally do not endorse that at all. this is not pro-pink/blue binary. the stuff herein is just statement of facts wrt the society we exist in and general perceptions. yes, it’s dumb. but also yes, it’s a thing.

i’m putting the actual convo that took place under a cut because it’s very long but also very hilarious because all of the above facts become absolutely brain-melting when you probe into what he thinks is feminine.

not kidding it’s very long but it is absolutely peak himbo and if you liked the queer post you’re gonna love this.
