Chris Evans for Godiva

Godiva has engaged actor Chris Evans as the voice of a new campaign aimed at making the high-end chocolate brand’s decadent sweets more approachable and accessible—or as Godiva’s CEO Nurtac Afridi put it, to “democratize the luxury” long associated with the brand. This is the new Godiva: colorful, joyful, approachable, with the same premium quality you deserve any day of the week,” says the brand’s global chief executive officer Nurtac Afridi. She explains that Evans was the ideal fit from a talent perspective due to his “on- and off-screen confidence, charisma and approachability,” which embody the tone that the brand hopes to strike.

So.

The Sound of Silence is probably one of my favorite songs ever. When speaking of the “true” Simon and Garfunkel version (as opposed to the version where they added background music to in post to make it more “pop radio”), it’s a song that gives me chills.

Disturbed is not a band that I really enjoy. I remember in college, my (now) wife gave me a copy of a Disturbed CD, because she had two for some reason. I tried to listen to it, I really did. Didn’t do anything for me.

But this? Holy fuck, this is stunning. This is amazing.

This gives me chills.

Holy shit, you have to listen to the whole sing.

I have chills.

Holy SHIT.

This is the band who did “Down With The Sickness”????

UM?????

If you stop before three minutes you’re missing the truly mind-blowing bit

Absolutely beautiful. I had chills.

DUDE!

Ok, it got a reblog out of me there at the end.

Fhdjf DUDE

The vocal range on this guy. THE VOCAL RANGE ON THIS FUCKING GUY.

I fuckin love Disturbed and always loved it when they did covers. This is amazingggg

ifucking love this video and i fucking love david draiman and his voice

Fun fact: Paul Simon loves this cover and sent a letter to David telling him so.

What he’s doing? That perfect knife-like clarity to anguished, grating cry? From everything I know about singing, not being a singer myself but having lived with someone who WAS trained, that is NOT easy.  That is VERY difficult.  I’m not acquainted enough with Disturbed to know what his range is like since I’ve only heard a few songs, but just based on this one song, the versatility of his voice is amazing.  It always just blows me the fuck away.

ha HA what the fuck

@beetlemancy not sure if this is your vibe but it feels close?

I never liked the song in the pop radio version of Simon and garfunkel. I’ve hate it to have to sing the song in choir.

And then there came disturbed with their cover version and suddenly this song hits so differently. Like there is so much more power and meaning and at least for me the song suddently makes sense for the first time.

I love the slow increase in volume and power in his voice and how - somehow - that’s what makes the silence souch louder in the end.

There is so much raw yet sharply pointed power in that voice , and the orchestra -opposed to the in my opinion lush acoustic guitar original- really underlines this
