Birth, in all of its raw, ecstatic, primal glory is the most natural thing in the world to behold.

It is beautiful.

It is powerful.

It is home.

Yes there is always some risk inherent in birth - because birth is life, and because in birth we walk between two worlds - those of flesh and those of spirit.

Yes birth often brings with it powerfully intense sensations - but when we are able to move, to sway, to breathe, to feel supported and loved, often this intensity is manageable and can be a precious opportunity to touch the golden core of our true power.

The truth is that an undisturbed, physiologic birth is a normal bodily process. It is not an an emergency just waiting to happen - and more then that, listening to and trusting birthing women and their intuition is primary risk management.

Look into the eyes of a child witnessing a gentle, peaceful, ecstatic home birth and take note of what you see.

Awe. Wonder. Amazement. Fascination. Joy.

This is the truth of the essence of undisturbed birth reflected in their eyes.

Birth was never meant to be hidden away from us, from our children, from our families. It is not normal that for many women the first birth they ever witness is their own.

(Common yes - but not normal).

Ecstatic, powerful, passionate, transcendental, joyous, blissful, triumphant birth - is our birthright.

Birth is part of the collective culture of women. We are reclaiming what is ours. And giving that gift back to our families for the health + well-being of the future generations.
