2 things i wish fandoms-in-general would understand:
- self-sacrifice is not actually inherently noble or brave or virtuous or kind or good. it is not the mark of Extreme Kindness or Absolute Humanity. & when someone has such a penchant for it that they never fail to sacrifice themself when given the slightest opportunity, it’s a sign that they don’t value themself at all & are probably in some fashion trying to die
- sometimes characters are bastards and that is okay. there is no need to pretend they’re not, or that they never were, or that they were once but they magically stopped & no longer ever struggle with bastardness. sometimes it iseven more interesting if a character is just naturally kind of a bastard & they have to make a conscious effort every day, always, forever, to be a better goddamn person. sometimes that’s more fun. please perhaps let this concept into ur heart
