The sound of silence, contrary to popular belief, can be beautiful.
There are no orchestras playing, no sound of idle chatter threading through in the halls—the echoes of Marinette’s shoes across the floor are the only noises, delicate and sharp as she approaches Chat Noir. The whole palace seems to hold its breath as she crosses the floor until they are standing face to face; red to black, both connected by gold.
They look at each other, quiet for the longest time. Marinette lets out the exhale she doesn’t even know she’s been holding when Chat Noir finally smiles. “You look lovely,” he offers in a soft voice. “Care for a dance, m’lady?”
I commissioned @shaniartist to draw a scene from my Marichat Beauty & the Beast AU, Come Roses, Come Thorns! It was such a pleasure working with her and she honestly went above and beyond what I had in mind.
