I don’t spend much time in the figure skating tags or fandom in general so when I do it’s a little jarring to see almost everything focusing on specifics of scoring and just so much… INTENSE discussion I guess??? Like damn, I don’t give a rat’s ass if Nathan Chen’s PCS scores are inflated, because he reminds me of all the reasons I fell in love with figure skating as a kid, and I can’t stop smiling when I watch him skate, and every time I see him skate live I’m like “holy shit I can’t believe I get the privilege of watching this kid.” I don’t get why the numbers are the focus when to me skating has always been about… the joy, I guess.
