In this, Ralph Meeker’s character did something I would have love to do Charles Durning’s deputy sheriff character.

[SPOILER ALERT] 

Put a shot or two in him, if you know what I mean and I’m not talking bullets.

On a side note: That back view of Durning would get a whole lot better a few years down the line.
