#i was worried i would have some empty months
2021 Year in Review but Ajin
–Since it’s what I pretty much focused on this year.
This is probably because it ended in Feb 2021 and that made me want to revisit and wander with these characters that I first fell in love with back in 2016.
For this year, I will go into detail about the different pieces here. Extremely tldr!!
January:In this comic Naomi is on friendlier terms with Tanaka and he visits her and is happy to tell her he can finally die and she cries because she cares for him.
In the beginning of the year Naomi cameoed in a chapter so I became pretty invested in Naomi and Tanaka again. However, I guess I see their relationship as a painful one because there’s a huge push and pull of power between them. Like, I don’t think I can ever forget how she just braced herself for death the 2nd time she encounters Tanaka. She must have felt so much inner pain and guilt. Her falling in love with Tanaka would just mess with her mental state for real. I don’t think she’d be very comfortable with those feelings and I feel like Tanaka would be utterly bewildered and feel sorry for her. Because of this, they became pretty difficult for me to write in a way that wasn’t dark.
