Megalo Box. Never have I seen an anime side steps its own given conventions as hard and fast as this one has, abandoning what most would turn into the focal point, and at times it was, for the sake of just telling a story.

Instead of boxing being the crux of the anime itself, its the device to tell a story around but will, when it sees fit, shove it off to side and be like YO ITS STORY TIME ARE YA READY??!?!?

I was not ready.
