I just watched Hallownest Ode by F-N-Chabry on YouTube. Holy shit. If anyone here is interested in Hollow Knight content, especially ones that focus on the Vessels, their story, and the theme of overcoming trauma, please watch it. It’s the WHOLE story of Hollow Knight smoothly animated to music, with a focus on Ghost themself.

yes okay actually coming out of the tags to talk about it for a hot second: this animation is INCREDIBLE. the shots are lovely and the art is fantastic. the entire ending sequence nearly had me in tears.
and as a mandarin speaker i HAVE to comment on the lyrics as well - they essentially go through the knight’s journey through hallownest, what you see on screen matches what the lyrics are saying. however it’s not just that simple - the lyrics follow a very classically poetic style, which takes SO much skill to execute well. it is so hard to describe in english terms but much of the eloquence stems from using characters VERY concisely and simultaneously drawing out rich imagery and emotion. i’m just… blown away by the skill on display here. serious kudos to the lyricist
this is not to detract from the animation itself, which in itself is enormous, but i just wanted to highlight the lyrics for a moment for the non-mandarin speakers out there :)
????! Can you please explain a bit of the lyrics and what you think of them? I didn’t even know that they changed the lyrics, I thought it was just Senbonzakura! I admire this animation a lot and I would love to hear everything you think about it!
