“Dada ” Sirius’s concentration is broken by giggles and calls of his name. He eyes the closed office door. debating on keeping it that way for just a couple more minutes.

“Dada? Dada?” The babbling continues, but he can pick up on the whines in the toddlers words. Setting aside his papers he opens the office doors just as the whimpers were starting. Aaliyah is sitting outside the office with tearful eyes. Her baby gardening gloves in one hand and watering can in the other.

“Dada” her voice is breaking with the tears and Sinus scoops her up, pressing his lips to her head. “I got you baby” he murmurs, wiping her eyes, Ayah lights and points outside.

“Dada” excitement shines in her eyes and she shakes her watering can.

“No Ayah, we can’t water the flowers in the rain.” Aaliyah pouts, and Sirius melts a little at her green gold eyes, so much like her moms.

“What if you help me water the flowers here?” Sirius asks, pointing to Aaliyah’s favorite lavender plant. She starts babbling with a huge smile on her face. Sirius sits her on the desk and helps her put her gardening gloves on, carrying her down to the kitchen.

“Hey Ayah, Hey Sirius” Luka greets the two of them, giving the baby a warm smile. She waves her watering can at him and Luka laughs, turning back to his cooking.

“Here, fill it up Aaliyah” Sirius tells her, sitting her on the counter, he helps her hold the little can. Ayah babbles to him, occasional Dada’s and Ali’s slipping through.

“Oh and then what happened?” Sirius encourages the babbles, walking with her to the office. She hides behind his legs and jacket when a group of soldiers come down the hall. Timidly coming out, she starts her story again. Sirius opens the door to the office and Aaliyah goes to the tree in the corner gently watering it.

“What about this one?” Sirius asks, and the toddler runs to him, to water it. Picking her up, she doesn’t notice that Fenrir comes in with her twin, as she waters every plant. Finally she sets down her watering can and babbles, giggling when she hears the babbles returned. Sirius sets her down and she runs over to her twin, hugging him and they both fall to the floor.

“Do you know when Jaz is coming back?” Fenrir asks and Sirius shrugs, his eyes not leaving the twins.

“Whenever Lancelot and Ray are done meeting. It could be a while,” Sirius shuts down the question, not letting his mind wander. Ray is with her, nothing will happen. Ayah and Alistar both sit up and point outside.

“Dada”

“Papa” Both of the twins call from him and Sirius sits next to them.

“What?” He asks, and they look outside again.

“You still want to go out?” He asks and they nod, both giggling at the idea.

“I’ll help you take them out, we did just get them rain boots and ponchos” Fenrir offers and Sirius sighs, it’s 3 to one.

“Alright, just for a few minutes, your mom will kill me if i let you get sick” He sighs defeated. Fenrir walks with Alistar and Sirius walk with Aaliyah down to the entryway where the rain boots are. The twins sit on the bench, giggling and squirming while the boots go on and Alistar tries to bolt when the front door opens.

“No Alistar” Fenrir catches him and throws him over his shoulder, standing him up on the bench. Sirius holds the squirming tots while Fenrir runs to his room to grab Shu Shu, the dog happy to join them in their rainy day adventures. Opening the front door the twins race through, giggling as they run through the rainstorm.

“This is one way to tire them out” Fenrir laughs, watching Shu Shu chase the toddlers. Laughter and squeals sounding through the courtyard. Aaliyah run and splashes too close to Sirius, dousing the Queen’s pant leg in rainwater before giggling away.

“These brats. Just like their mother” Sirius laughs, chasing her and throwing her up in the air. Fenrir and Sirius chase the toddlers around, all of them thoroughly soaked when they hear a carriage pull up.

“What is going on?” The warm voice cuts through the rain and both the twins let out excited squeals.

“Mama”

“Mama” The twins race for Jaz, and she tiredly sinks to her knees to scoop up her babies.

“Hello Darlings.” Her voice and depths of her eyes radiate stress, conflicting with the relief and joy in her smile. Sirius walks over and she raises her eye at him.

“Really?” Faint amusement tugs at her lips as she tries to keep her face stern. Sirius grins at the attempt and kisses her cheek.

“They missed you and were not taking no for an answer.” Sirius defends, and Jaz sighs, she carries her twins into the Base. They snuggle up to her immediately, tired from all the running around.

“You guys are soaked, come on, let’s go take a bath.”
