Just found out about auditory-tactile synaesthesia, and things make so much sense now. No wonder hitting certain harmonic notes on the piano makes it feel like my skin is vibrating pleasantly in tune with the different frequencies, and why I never managed to learn to read sheet music and instead relied solely on memorizing a song based on how itfelt (seriously never understood why one needs sheet music unless they don’t know/remember what a song sounds like?). Or why putting away ceramic plates or cutlery-against-porcelain always felt like sharp stabs to the side of my neck behind the ear, why some people’s voices makes my mouth taste faintly like soap, why the high pitched incessant hum of certain ceiling lights gives me headaches, why I get nauseous if I play sound directly out of my phone speakers for too long.
