inprogresspokemon:

#570.5 - Zorua are playful Pokemon who live in closely-knit packs with other Zorua and Zoroarks. To avoid danger and conflict, they use their illusionary abilities to trick other Pokemon and people, which helps them better develop these powers. As the small tuff of hair on Zorua’s head grows into a long mane, they pull it back with a bangle passed down from elders in their pack. They will transition to walking on two legs as their hind legs develop strong muscles.

#850.5 - Distantly related to Skorupi, Sizzlipede live in fields where they stalk their prey while hidden within tall grass and bushes. Using their long body, they restrain their prey before using the flammable gas within to generate heat and cook their catch within their coils; once they’re well-done, Sizzlipede will voraciously nibble them down to the last morsel. As they grow both larger and capable of reaching higher internal temperatures, these Pokemon also become more hostile and territorial. #273.5- Seedot attach themselves to tree branches using the stem on their head, where they suck moisture and nutrients from the tree. By remaining still, they look like ordinary acorns hanging from a tree; however, they’re pranksters at heart and enjoy startling nearby Pokemon by moving suddenly. As they age, Seedot begin to outgrow their protective outer shell, but will carry it around with them for added protection. Maturing Seedot love to startle and scare Trainers who venture into their forest.

#274.5- Nuzleaf live in holes bored into large trees. They are known for plucking the leaf on their head and making a flute. Nuzleaf play an unsettling song that strikes fear and uncertainty in the hearts of people lost in their forest. Nuzleaf age very slowly, and mature Nuzleaf - Shiftry - is a rare sight in the wild, found only in depths of ancient forests. They live quiet lives, but will attack anyone who enters their inner territory; they are feared by locals as forest guardians. Trainers looking to evolve their Nuzleaf within their lifetime can speed up the process by frequently exposing it to a Leaf Stone.

#653.5 - Fennekin live within dens, dug deep within isolated forests and fields, and are protected from harm by their parents. As they age the air that vents through their fluffy ears gets increasingly hotter, powering up their offensive attacks and allowing them to become more independent. Fennekin seek out and eat sticks and twigs - a snack that fills them with energy, but have also been observed to collect a stick and act territorial around those who try to take it away. They are capable of standing on two legs, but they cannot walk around bipedally very well yet.

#654.5 - Braixen have a fixation on sticks and branches, which they use to focus their fire attacks with growing potency. Maturing Braixen - Vulhex - will go through several sticks, storing them in their bushy tail until they find the right one. As these Pokemon age, they begin to stare into the tip of their wand-like stick, focusing intently for long periods of time. This meditative-like practice is said to begin to harness their budding psychic abilities. The fire attacks Vulhex produce using their wand are much hotter than those they produce internally. With much practice, a fully mature Vulhex can gaze into the flame at the tip of their branch to achieve a focused that allows them to see into the future.

inprogresspokemon:

#114.5 - Tangela are shrouded by wide blue vines that are similar in composition to seaweed. Their vines are constantly writhing and shaking, effectively unnerving their foes. The vines are strong, able to entangle anything that gets too close, yet they will snap off easily and painlessly if they are grabbed, allowing for a quick escape. Tangela’s vines are continuously growing and replacing lost mass. As wild Tangela age, it is possible for their profuse vine growth to trigger a dormant gene that induces their evolution into Tangrowth. If trainers wish to evolve their Tangela, they can teach the Pokemon the move Ancient Power, which will awaken the same gene.

#360.5 - Wynaut are nocturnal, living and traveling together in packs. They grow stronger by pushing up against each other en masse, gaining endurance and training to dole out powerful counterattacks. These peaceful Pokemon can always be seen with a big, happy smile on their face, though their true emotion can only be determined by watching their tail. As Wynaut age, they become more independent and avoid groups in an effort to keep their tails from being stepped on. They will never attack first, but will endure a hit before inflating its body to pump up a counter-strike. However, if their tail is attacked, they will go as far as using Destiny Bond on their opponent to take them down.

inprogresspokemon:

This Steel/Fairy dual-type Eeveelution was commissioned by @cassidy-peterson and is based on her original design, inspired by this Vaporeon Ball Joint Doll by vonBorowsky. She is looking for name suggestions, so if you have an idea, please share!

Fanceon (Steel/Fairy)

#??? - On rare occasion, an Eevee can be affected by more than one environmental factor, and reacts to grow into a new, rare evolution. When an Eevee is leveled up while holding a Metal Coat and knowing at least one Fairy-type move, it will evolve into this prized Steel/Fairy Eeveelution. Their doll-like appearance and delicate movements can make it easy to underestimate them, a mistake that quickly becomes apparent to anyone who dares to provoke these loyal and hardworking Pokemon. Though Fanceon are popular among the elite as a sign of wealth, they are beginning to become a more common sight among the “lower castes.” Fanceon emanate an aura of safety and protection, which, combined with their innate strength and diligent tendencies, make them popular partners for emergency personnel. Their kind nature also makes them good companions for trauma survivors, serving well as therapy animals.

#755.5 - Morelull are nocturnal Pokemon that walk around at night on their leg-like roots. Because they suck all the nutrients from the surrounding soil, they must keep moving or else cause nearby plants to wither. Though relatively weak, Morelull can release bright, glowing spores, which have a soporific effect on anyone caught looking at their pulsing lights. Their influence over those who stare at their spores increases as they age and their mushroom caps further grow and develop; entering a forest full of Shiinotic at night is a treacherous prospect.

#084.5 - Doduo live in flat, grassy plains, where they can survey the area around them for miles; if they see an enemy approaching, they can race away at speeds of 60 mph. The brains in their two heads are linked telepathically, and work in tandem to keep themselves safe. As Doduo become stronger and more experienced, they will eventually undergo their unique evolution where one of their heads will undergo a form of mitosis, splitting in two. The process is distressing to the Pokemon, and during this short period of time they cannot battle well and can only perform basic tasks. Once the one head has finished splitting, the resulting two heads are typically more aggressive than the un-split head.

#133.57 - Eevee’s unstable genetic makeup allows for this Pokemon to adapt to their environment by altering the composition of their body. If an Eevee lives in the frigid cold, it will adapt by gaining an acute control over its body heat - as well as a resistance to the freezing temperatures. These Eevee will grow a very fine layer of fur, which can be frozen into needle-like spikes and fired off at will. Fully evolved Glaceon are said to emanate such coldness that powdery snow will naturally form around them. However, Eevee are not often native to colder areas, and it is very rare to sight to see a Glaceon in the wild. Trainers can emulate this environment by exposing their Eevee to certain icy stones.

#027.5 - While young, Sandshrew live in deep underground burrows in arid locations, emerging only to hunt for food. If threatened, they will instantly roll into a ball for protection. As they age, their brick-like hide grow tough spikes that offer them increased protection, giving this timid Pokemon the confidence to spend more time above ground; some adult Sandslash can even be found nesting in trees! Maturing Sandshrew willl still roll up into a ball, but will instead roll around and attack foes with their sturdy spikes. If anything happens to their spikes and claws, they can quickly regrow them.

#027.5A - Sandshrew have historically lived in desert areas, but frequent eruptions of nearby volcanoes drove Alolan Sandshrew into the snowy mountains, where they evolved to thrive in this new environment. These Sandshrew have a shell of ice covering their skin, which is hard as steel. Their heavy hide slows them down and prevents them from curling up, but greatly increases their defense. #607.5 - Litwick are small candle spirits that live deep within forests, who wander into towns and cities in order to lure prey out into the dark; they especially prefer lost children, whom they guide by the hand into the spirit world. #761.5 - Bounsweet exclude a delicious smell from their entire body which has a calming effect on humans, making them a popular Pokemon found in Alolan homes. Those who aren’t cared for by a Trainer often end up as prey, as predators are drawn towards their delicious aroma, and their stubby legs and rotund body make it difficult for them to flee. #393.5- Piplup are independent Pokemon that live along shores in northern countries. They are born with a thick down that guards them from the cold, and quickly become skilled swimmers, hunting for their own food at an early age. Due to this early competence, Piplup are often overly proud, and have difficulty bonding with a trainer who wishes to take care of them. #459.5 - Snover live on snowy mountains, often far away from civilization. Because of this, many Snover are curious about humans, and will gather around footprints they find that they think belong to people. Their gruff appearance gives them a bad reputation, with locals nicknaming mature Snover “the Ice Monster”, but despite this they are actually quite kindhearted. Shy by nature, these Pokemon create blizzards to hide themselves; though they are known to help lost hikers in need. As Snover grow older, their dense, snow-like fur grows thicker, causing them to retreat further up the frigid slopes.

Named:Snover - Yetice - Abomasnow

#460 Mega - Abomasnow live quiet lives on mountains that are perpetually covered in snow; to keep themselves hidden, they periodically whip up blizzards to hide their tracks and scent. If an Abomasnow has partnered with a Trainer whom they truly trust, then they are able to Mega Evolve when equipped with Abomasite. The rush of Mega Energy riles Abomasnow up, replacing their aloof and peaceful demeanor with one of aggression and agitation. The buds on Abomasnow’s back sprout suddenly into great shafts of ice that power up their icy attacks. #355.5 - Duskull wander lost among the deep darkness of midnight. The sight of their glowing eyes in the dark has sparked an admonishment given to misbehaving children, warning them to listen to their parents, or else Duskull will come and spirit them away. These ghastly Pokemon love the crying of children, and will doggedly pursue their prey wherever it goes, stopping only once the sun has risen. As they mature, Duskull’s intentions become more sinister. It is said that a spectral ball of fire burns inside their hollow bodies, but those who attempt to verify this claim are sucked inside, never to return.

#095 Baby - Onix’s rock-like eggs are so large and hard that they are often confused for regular boulders, making it dangerous for Trainers to sit on round rocks when they’re in mountainous Onix territory. Onix younglings break through their egg with their thick horn, which crumbles away as they age and tunnel through hard bedrock, leaving behind the hardened inner core. Unable to open their eyes after hatching, the blind young Onix navigate their surroundings by using their internal magnet. They feed on the remains of rocks destroyed by their parents, gaining mass overtime as the minerals are absorbed into their body, hardening their tough exterior. Wild Onix younglings don’t leave their parents until they reach their mature size and can withstand high underground pressures.

#095.5 - Onix are excellent burrowers, capable of moving through dense earth and rock at a speed of 50 mph - all the while feeding on large boulders. A magnent-like organ in their brain acts as a compass, so that this Pokemon never loses direction while tunneling. An Onix must live for a very long time in order to evolve naturally into a Steelix. As they age, they venture further and further into the Earth’s crust, and the pressure and heat, along with the dense minerals they eat down there – iron especially – slowly compress and harden their long serpentine body until it is harder than diamonds.

However, as Meowth age, they become extremely temperamental and vicious, apt to lash out for little reason. Combined with their increased size, maturing Meowth—Felion—are often released into the wild as their owners realize they can no longer properly care for them. Their lithe muscles allow them to walk without making a sound; they are swift and potent hunters.     [Old Version]

#052.5A - Meowth were originally introduced to the Alola region as a gift to royalty; the luxurious royal lifestyle soon led these Meowth to diverge from their origins and become selfish, prideful, and captious. When the Alolan monarchy fell, the rare Alolan Meowth went feral and, over several generations, grew to be a common sight in the wild. Conceited and cunning, Alolan Meowth look down on others and have a tendency towards cruelty, choosing to torture weakened prey rather than finishing them off. Although their velvet-soft fur and round face remain a symbol of wealth, these Pokemon are formidable battlers, unafraid of fighting dirty.

Named:Meowth - Felion -Persian

#052.5G - Galarian Meowth are a subspecies that had stowed away on ships and traveled unwittingly to Galar. Living with a savage, seafaring people has toughned their body so much that parts of it has turned to iron. Unlike their Kantonian relatives, Galarian Meowth seek out darker, less shiny coins, which are harder and made of more valuable material. As they grow and continue to seek out durable metals, both in their diet and for their collections, the hair on their head will begin to harden into a iron-hard “helmet.” These Meowth have a violent and barbaric demeanor, and lives for the thrill of battle

#029.5 - Due to an early misunderstanding in the field, the Nidoran line was erroneously categorized as different Pokemon based on sex. Nidoran♀ possess smaller horns than the males, but their venom is extremely potent, and they must be treated with caution. Nidoran♀ barbs continue to grow slowly as they age, so if these docile Pokemon must fight, they mainly attack with bites and scratches. As they age into Nidora, they develop a docile, gentle temperament and learn to tuck away their barbs to prevent hurting friends or family. Though their barbs grow slower than Nidoro, they can emit ultrasonic cries to befuddle foes.

#030.5 - Nidorina are calm, caring Pokemon who look after young and have tight communal bonds. As they mature into Nidoqueen, their skin develops sturdy, armor-like scales that grant them increased protection from any attack. Though they still possesses needle-like, poisonous spines, as they bulk up and grow stronger they prefer to use powerful physical moves to defeat their foes. As Nidoress, they are dedicated to protecting their nest and young from predators with their life. When separated from their community, Nidorina require the energy from a Moon Stone to aid in their evolution.

#540.5 - Sewaddle live in colonies within forests rich with plant life, which they use both as a source of food and as material for their sewing. Leavanny dress newly hatched Sewaddle in clothes they’ve made, which the Pokemon will alter or make anew as they grow out of them. Sewaddle grow rapidly as they age, and after they have consumed enough nutrients, they will begin to expand their leafy hood into a protective cloak. Once curled inside and protected from the elements, their body undergoes a rapid development.

#541.5 - While young, Swadloon prefer dark, damp places, where they can spend the entire day in isolation, eating the fallen leaves that lie around it. Though they wander from place to place, Swadloon are often attended to by Leavanny, which have a strong paternal instinct and assist the Pokemon throughout its evolution. As Swadloon age and become more emboldened, they will open their cloak, wearing it as a sort of cape to wrap back around themselves when needed. They will often apprentice under the Leavanny that looked after them, learning new sewing techniques with their developing limbs. The relationship between Swadloon and Leavanny is essential to their evolution, and while evolving without this support is a difficult feat, they may still evolve in captivity if they have strong support and guidance from their Trainer.

#529.5 - Drilbur live in a complex system of subterranean dens and tunnels. By straightening their body, putting both of their sharp claws together, and whirling around at high speed, these Pokemon can dig through the ground at a speed of 30 mph. Maturing Drilbur develop sharper, thicker claws with external blades, which help them dig faster, deeper, and through harder metals and substrate. As Drilbur grow up, they leave the safety of their parents’ tunnel system to create their own elaborate underground network; often the offspring don’t go far, and their tunnels will eventually merge with their surrounding family’s.

#145 Baby - Zapdos are Legendary Pokémon that prefer to nest in high peaks, where they are hidden from view by cloud cover. Their eggs are thick-shelled and durable, prepared to be exposed to the frequent, powerful storms that adult Zapdos generate when flying. Likewise, Zapdos chicks are feisty and tough, and leave the nest at a younger age than their Legendary cousins. Zapdos parents teach their young chicks how to fly and sense electrical currents amongst a storm. With time, the slowly maturing chicks will be taught how to generate and release electricity; however, precise control of their electrical powers comes with age and experience. Zapdos chicks have a temper as mercurial as a storm, and will not hesitate to shock anyone or anything that makes them mad!

#092.5 - Gastly posses gas-like bodies that allow them to sneak into any place they desire; however, while they are young this gaseous matter can be dispersed by heavy winds. As Gastly grow, their bodies condense and they will begin to form spectral hands, which they will use to beckon their victims into the darkness. They also begin to develop a specialized neurotoxin that coats their tongues, which will paralyze victims upon contact. Maturing Gastly will begin to hunt humans, so trainers must be cautious before approaching wild Gastly or Haunter.

#093.5 - Haunter are very capable predators who survive in the wild by stealing their prey’s lifeforce; the key to their evolution. They prefer hiding in darkness, where they can create illusions to lure potential victims. As they age, they will begin to hide within a person’s shadow and stalk them throughout the day. Trainers who are looking to evolve their Haunter must find another way to provide them sufficient energy, such as the surge from electronically trading. Haunter who have satisfied their hunger have been known to pull harmless pranks.

#094 Mega - Despite wild Gengar’s often sinister intentions, trained Gengar are known to be loyal to their trainers if treated well, and are capable of mega evolving if their bond is powerful enough. During the mega evolution process, Gengar will open a dormant third eye, which allow them to see into the dimensions they originated from and grants them additional special attack power. They will also sink partially into the ground, where they can unknowingly grab onto opponents’ shadows and prevent escape.

Auroreon(Ice/Fairy)

#??? - On rare occasion, an Eevee can be affected by more than one environmental factor, and reacts to grow into a new, rare evolution. Ice/Fairy Auroreon are elusive Pokemon that largely hide from public eye. They are able to affect the atmosphere around them to create blizzards, ranging from mild to intense storms. Many Trainers who attempt to track down this Eeveelution have lost sight of the Pokemon when it called upon a sudden snow storm, escaping into the flurry of white. The glowing horn on Auroreon’s forehead activates special organs in their shoulders and tail, producing a flowing stream of mysterious, color-changing light. Those who interact with the light are filled with strong feelings of wonder and joy, though Auroreon is also able to use the lights to mesmerize opponents, making them temporarily subject to this Pokemon’s will. When more than one Auroreon gather, strange, dancing lights are said to fill the night sky; those who sleep under the lights’ reach will have pleasant dreams and awake feeling refreshed, resulting in locals regarding these obscure Pokemon as mythical guardians, while nearby Eevee may begin to evolve into an Ice/Fairy type themselves. These Eeveelutions have a high opinion of themselves, and will fearlessly charge at enemies many times their size to protect those they care about. Dragon Pokemon, beware.

#261.5 - Poochyena are omnivores, and are quick to take a bite of anything that moves. Due to their stubbornly persistent nature, they will chase their prey until the victim becomes exhausted; due to their acute sense of smell, they are able to pursue their prey without ever losing track. As Poochyena age, they set out to find a pack of their own. These Pokemon enjoy knowing their place in a group, and will respect a skillful trainer as much as a proven pack leader. Their tenacious nature and ability to effectively hunt prey grows as they do, especially now that they work to incorporate others into coordinated group attacks.
