Captaineer time lets gooo

Whats giving me brainrot rn is the thought of the head engineer during that whole “Don’t” scene, where he’s set with determination to Stop Them because he’s convinced the captain betrayed him- and yet the second they grab his hand you see the trust flood back into his eyes. All it takes is a moment of actual eye contact with the captain for him to doubt his multiple lifetimes of suspicion and determination. Suddenly he isn’t too sure and maybe this was all just a Misunderstanding, maybe that feeling deep in his gut was right all along; the captain would NEVER do this, at least not on purpose.

I just think its cute that no matter how hard he tries, the head engineer can’t stop the feeling of trust for his captain
