I want to know about the man that Vander drowned in the river Pilt. The man who supposedly died that day. The man who was so full of passion and compassion, who wished for a greater nation, who wished to rise out of the filth and make himself and those around him something more

I want to know about the man that escaped the mines and built his family around him. I want to know about the man who cared so deeply about his fellow Sons and Daughters of Zaun, who helped to lead an uprising when he could no longer stomach being taken advantage of.

I want to know about the man who finds the orphans that slip in some days, just looking for some comfort amongst cruel reality, just looking for somethingandsomeone. He can’t offer them much, but he can tell them how to best wield a knife to protect themselves.

I want to know about the man who, between the fighting, bandaged wounds and wiped the tears off his comrades when they said they’d had enough . He’d tell them they could be done, but they were needed here, remind them of what they were fighting for.

I want to know about the man that I suspect would willingly have given his life to protect those around him, for his brother, without a second thought. The same man who thought that they would do the same.

I want to know about the man who was betrayed, so far out of left field that it changed everything he thought he was and thought that he could be. I want to know about the man who hurt so deeply because he felt so damn much.

I want to know about the man, who, when thin, desperate arms were thrown around his torso, felt that tiniest twinge of something start to surface from deep within his soul.

I want to know about the man who perhaps didn’t die that day.

He just never stopped drowning.

You know what’s really hot? Not having to guess someone’s feelings or intentions
