I really wish people would understand that there are other forms of queer rep besides two same gendered people kissing.
A queer character is queer rep regardless of their romance or a lack thereof even. Ace and aro people exist. Trans people exist. Bi people exist. Queer characters are rep by existing, not just by who they interact with. If a character is nonbinary, they are queer rep whether they kiss someone or not. A bi character in a relationship with someone a different gender is still queer rep because they are still bi. Queer characters can even just be friends with one another. They can be single! And still be queer because that’s who they are not who they do!
This whole trend of deciding if art is valid representation based on romance and ships is reductive and dismissive of identities existing within individuals. And of the communities that we all need.
Just please, stop reducing entire identities down to relationships. Its all good and fun to enjoy your ships, but you have to remember the community is bigger than just romances.

I’m fed up of people being like yea we need magic but not the sex one, sex positivity is vital to the lgbtq+ community it is not invalidating to asexual people to celebrate gay sex as something that is positive and beautiful and natural. We should be celebrating all the aspects of our community and this can include both asexuals and sex positivity

why shouldn’t they be doing this to other things? because they’re really fucking bad at it and should not be doing it at all.
I don’t think the issue here is necessarily that people think they SHOULD have done this for Nazis, it is the fact that they CHOSE to do it for porn but NOT for Nazis. It tells us that they really don’t care one iota about white supremacists running amok.
It could also be that there’s free software which you can just download for free and run which tries to identify porn, but nothing to identify Nazis that you can just pick up off the shelf and not pay for.
frankly, i think swastikas are easier to detect than nudes.

themajority of modern alt-right rhetoric is, at least to some degree, stolen from the left. Obviously, it is then warped beyond all recognition, but at its core it’s words they stole from us.
Look at the overall competence of Tumblr, and tell me they can ban nationalism without catching some black nationalists as false positives. Assure me they can reliably distinguish between posts unironically supporting antisemitism and posts warning you against antisemitism - some of which may wear exactly the same tags, or exist on the same reblog chain. Swear to me that they’ll ban only the real fascists, and not the people that the alt-right CALL fascists because it’s their favorite kneejerk response to antifa.
One of my favorite Youtubers posted a video on white fascism the other day. Within hours it had been taken down for hate speech. It got restored… eventually… but the point is: an algorithm can’t tell whether you’re posting that propaganda poster in unironic support, or as an educational tool to deconstruct its rhetoric. The algorithm can’t tell, because bots are dumb.
Ooh. Please please make more self-inserts. Not only is it fun you have no idea how much it can help you be kind to yourself. Have the hero of the franchise fall in love with you for what you think are your annoying quirks. Have the wisest man in that fictional world, tell others that your are the kindest and the smartest person he has ever met. Have the evil guy fall for you and revoke his evil ways cuz youre just that hot. Allow yourself to be loved by the fictional characters you look up to and in time you may also begin see how wonderful you really are.
