So I got pulled over last night on my way home from a cleansing and protection I did for a dear friend who is moving.
It was my fault, I didn’t see a sign and was definitely driving far too fast through a roundabout.
The whole thing was 2 minutes long and friendly.
Mentally I noted two things:
One, I have a sharpened dagger in my front seat.
Two, I am very privileged to be who I am and where I am.
The whole interaction I kept waiting for the question, the question I’ve seen over and over on TikTok and YouTube videos about people being pulled over and after the “can I see your license and registration” question, there’s always another question in these videos. The one that says “do you have any weapon’s in the vehicle?”
If I had been asked that question, because I do indeed have my athame in the car with me, within my very easy reach I might add, I would have had to say yes.
But I wasn’t.
I was not asked, I was even thanked for my husband’s service because I’m privileged to have military car insurance.
But had I been somebody else, I know far too well this perfectly calm interaction and honest mistake on my part, this routine, very justified traffic stop, could have been so much worse.
My brother is a police officer and I’m thankful to know that I have him in my corner, but if any of my lovely followers have ever been through a not so nice interaction, I’m so sorry. I don’t know how to help, but I’d love to know how, because everyone should have a 2 minute interaction with a police officer, everyone should get off without a warning or a ticket for an honest mistake. But they don’t, and I’m so sorry.
It’s my first one and I am so excited!
(And I mean a minerals, rocks and gems show, not a concert)
I hope to get a lot of cool things to sell in my shop!
