I haven’t had time to update for awhile but I’m trying to catch up! This photo is so beautiful I thought it deserved its own, new post.
James Norton brings a moment from history to life as he performs a speech from Richard II — on the same spot where the real king was forced to abandon his crown.
The War And Peace star read from the Shakespeare play in Westminster Hall for a short film commissioned by the Globe theatre to mark the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death.
His speech came from the deposition scene, in which the king recounts how he was forced to give up his throne by Henry Bolingbroke’s rebels.
Westminster Hall was built in 1097 by the son of William the Conqueror and extensively restored by Richard II. He was deposed there on September 30, 1399.

An interview with James and Kate Fleetwood about the play Bug.
We got invited into rehearsals for the revival of Tracy Letts’ Bug, opening at new venue Found111 next week.
Simon Evans directs the award-winning dark comedy starring James Norton (Grantchester, Happy Valley) and Kate Fleetwood (Medea, High Society) alongside Alec Newman (The Motherf**ker with the Hat), Daisy Lewis (Downton Abbey) and Robert Goodale (Dr Faustus).
Set in a seedy motel room in Oklahoma City, Bug - which premiered 20 years ago at the Gate Theatre in Notting Hill - deals with issues of love, paranoia and conspiracy theories.
The production is design by Ben Stones with lighting from Richard Howell, composition and sound design from Edward Lewis and produced by Emily Dobbs Productions.
Bug will play a six week season from 24 March - 7 May.
James at the Into Film Awards today. Good to see him getting his lovely and ever-changing hair back. :)

How lovely to have this darling show back! It’s just very sweet and nice and comforting to watch. Although I do care less about the murders (does it always have to be connected to them personally? It’s a little weird in the end, all of their friends dead or in prison…) than about the main characters, particularly in the vicarage. Sidney, Leonard and Mrs Maguire are just such a lovely little bunch. And James is the best thing about it all, he’s just ever so beautful as Sidney. :)

From the Express - very colourful photos from James’ past…
The pictures were taken in two student shows during his second year at Cambridge, where he studied Theology at Fitzwilliam College. The actor, then aged 20, appeared in three shows in just one month during February 2006. The photos show James as the openly-gay Cambridge spy Guy Bennett in Julian Mitchell’s play Another Country - which was set in the 1930s and based on the public school days of the Cambridge spies.
He is seen dressed as a school boy in a suit and tie in some of the snaps taken during the show, which was put on by Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club at the ADC Theatre. James later showcased his diverse acting skills even more by starring in the comedy, Circus, put on by Cambridge Footlights. James took lead parts in 11 plays whilst studying at Cambridge.

2 - In other early pictures, he takes on a more serious part in Another Country, the 1981 play by Julian Mitchell, at the university theatre
In February 2006 he followed in the footsteps of Rupert Everett and Daniel Day-Lewis playing Guy Bennett in Another Country, based on one of the Cambridge Spies. The next month he was in student-written Circus.
In 2007 he played Posthumus in Shakespeare’s Cymbeline, directed by Trevor Nunn, before going on to study at RADA.
