LIVE

Here’s another one! I’m finding drawing these to be really relaxing when my brain is in a not good place, I hope you enjoy coloring them!

This one is based on Kanazashior Japanese hair ornaments. Hence the dangling parts around the edge. Most of the motifs are common in those, as well as on kimono (especially the sakura around the edges).

Feel free to print and color it, or color digitally,…

Japanese Motif Mandala 1

This just started out as a drawing for an obi for a piece of art, and it kind of got out of control. It’s a mandala inspired by Japanese kimono motifs, especially Sakura (cherry blossoms) and wisteria.

I still have a bad cold or bronchitis or something, so my brain hasn’t been “with it” the last few days, and today, coloring this is about all I could manage. It was kind of relaxing, I guess,…

Coloring Page – Forest Girl

Another piece of lineart done. I think I’m on to number 7 or 8. Thinking about making a digital coloring book with them all, but for now, here’s another one you can color if you’d like!

Coloring page – Kitsune Queen

So I’ve been doing more lineart lately, because it’s oddly relaxing. Plus, I have an obscene collection of fancy kimono images from web sites and magazines that I love using for inspiration, but making them fantastical creatures… okay, like most of them are kitsune (fox spirits), but that still counts, right?

Well, I just finished up the line art for this one that I’m currently coloring because…

Japanese flower card styled illustrations

This weekend has been full of illustrations. I’ve been trying a new style with really limited color sets, just trying to keep it to a few colors and their tints and shades. First I started with kitsune at an Inari shrine.

This one was so tricky, because making the kitsune faces not look too cartoony was difficult. This originally started as a lighting study on the shrine part, with…
