STORY:
“(Y/N), come here,” Sokka yelled from the other side of the room. You were talking to Zuko about how he has been faring since becoming the Firelord. You were glad he took a break and came to hang out with the rest of the gang at the Jasmine Dragon.
“Sorry, Zu, I should go see what he needs before he breaks something,” he smiled and said he’ll find you later before you walked over to Sokka.
“What did you break and how can I help?” you said looking around for broken objects.
“Do you really have that little faith in me?” Sokka faked being hurt.
“Yes,” you stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“You are so mean” he pouted before you laughed at him.
“Okay what did you need?” he looked down at you while you rolled your eyes.
“(Y/N), you and Zuko need to just get together already.” Sokka said.
“I… um dont know what you’re talking about,” you stuttered out quietly, “We were just talking before you called me over.”
“I think I speak for everyone when I say this,” He looked at you as you raised your eyebrows at him, “You are an idiot.” he pressed two finger on your forehead pushing you back slightly. You swatted at his hands hearing the sound of a loud slap.
“I think that’s what we say about you” you shot back quickly.
“We are going sick and tired of the tension between the two of you,” A blush rose to you cheeks as he continued, “The whole oh my gosh I love him so much,” he mocked you in a high pitch voice.
“I don’t sound like that,” you crossed our arms and glared at him.
“You do and Zuko is all like. Ugh, I like (Y/N) but no one could ever love me because I’m so angsty” Sokka said in a deep voice. A smile spread on your face.
“Just get together already, please,” He said, “Also can you do it in like the next two days so that I can win a bet with Toph,”
“Is that the whole reason you told me?” You inquired, laughing slightly at the immaturity of Toph and Sokka.
“Maybe? Maybe not?” he said, backing away.
“Well, I guess you’re gonna lose the bet because Zuko doesn’t like me, like that” you laughed in his face.
“Wanna bet?” Sokka asked.
“Fine, I’ll take that bet.” you said with a sudden confidence.
“You have to ask him in the next two days,” his eyebrows were raised in shock.
“I’ll ask him tonight, after dinner.” you suggested.
“Ha, now I get to win two bets in one day,” Sokka said, walking away.
During dinner, you could feel your palms begin to sweat. The whole gang sat around a table at the Jasmine Dragon, talking about the adventure they all had together. You were sitting between Zuko and Toph. You could feel his eyes on you during part of the dinner.
“Hey, (Y/N) are you alright, You’ve barely eaten?” The heat from his hand on your made your heart race.
“I’m fine, I promise” you smiled at him, nudging him with your shoulder.
“Okay,” at the end of the dinner while everyone was helping clean up you took this as your chance.
“Hey, Zu. I was going to go for a walk. Would you like to come with me?”
“Yeah, I could use some fresh air,” He said, placing the dish he was holding down.
The two of you walked through Ba Sing Se under the stars, in comfortable silence.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked, you could hear the concern in his voice.
“Yeah, I’m sure,” you said, “Do you like me?”
“Of course, I like you, You are an amazing person,”
“No like more than a friend,” You asked. Zuko didn’t say anything for a few minutes.
“Apparently all our friends have a bet going that we end up together.” you added.
“Oh, they do?”
“Yeah, Sokka told me about it,”
You both walked in silence for a few more minutes before Zuko spoke up, “Do you?” he asked as you stood outside the Jasmine Dragon once again.
“Do I what?” your head quirked slightly.
“Like me? Think that we will end up together?” he asked.
“Oh, I’m sorry if i made this awkward” You picked at the skin on your fingers.
“I do,” He said, your head was racing at what he meant, “Like you, I mean.”
“Wait you do?” The shock made your heart race.
“Yeah,” he took a step closer. You could feel your heart racing and your stomach in your throat.
“Do you?” he asked again. You could only manage to nod your head in response before you pressed your lips to his.
“You lost Toph,” you heard Sokka scream from inside the shop, “you too, (Y/N)”
“You made a bet with Sokka?” Zuko asked, forehead pressed against yours.
“I didn’t think you liked me.” You said.
“Idiot,” he said, pressing his lips to yours once again.
