This month we talk about housing Trans People with guests Dr. Alex AmbramovichandRebeka Refuse. Alex is one of the few Canadian researchers studying the phenomenon of queer and trans youth homelessness. Rebeka is a formerly homeless member of the lumpen proletariat who moderates the Trans Housing Network website. 

We also check in with our favorite francophone, Raphaele Frigon, about the organizing of a local trans for trans pride. Special thanks to Raph for literally breaking into my house to get my USB key and riding her bike to the station to save the show.

Dr. Alex Abramovich has worked in the area of LGBTQ2S youth homelessness for close to 10 years. Alex is a nationally recognized leader in the area of LGBTQ2S youth homelessness and is one of few Canadian researchers studying the phenomenon of queer and trans youth homelessness.

Rebeka Refuse - jobhaver​is a blogger, a marxist, a sex worker and moderator for the Trans Housing Network. She is based out of Baltimore Maryland and was recently named in the Trans 100 where she almost fought Laura Jane Grace for charity. She has a keen sense of humor and aesthetics.  

The Trans Housing Network is a website where you can or even extended needs, as well as offer a spot on your couch or floor to a trans person who needs one. post your needs for short term emergency housing

Tobi Hill- Meyer is a Queer Trans Multiracial Sex-Positive Activist Writer and Porn Maker based out of Seattle. She’s doing a lot but here’s a few links relevant to the interview.

Samuel Shanahoy is an Australian born film maker with a great sense of aesthetics based in Vancouver. He’s directed various music videos, very cute porn films and is working on a non-pornographic film teen coming of age story.

This episode was hosted and produced by Morgan Sea, a trans sex worker, artist and activist based out of Montreal. She has many complicated feels about porn; as a teenage consumer of massive amounts of tg erotic fiction, in her mid 20′s as an eager pornographer, and now as a 30 year old trans woman who feels completely exploited and abused by people she trusted. While this doesn’t really come up in the episode, it’s all sorta reflected in the tonal arc of this 2 hour special, and maybe explains some of the cognitive dissonance going on in part 2. Anyway, we hope you enjoy!
