[The Atelier Meffert was founded by Gustav Meffert (1867–1911) in 1895 in Hildburghausen (Thuringia). When Gustav died in 1911, the atelier has first been run by his wife and one of his sisters, and then run by his son, Rudolf Meffert (1907–1987) from 1928 until 1975. Barbara and Cornelius, children of Rudolf, kept the trade.]
